Profile: Diane Dobson

The process of personal development in the visual arts, and I believe any art, is a journey of discovery. Nature is my source and my of inspiration. I am a field naturalist and bird watcher, who finds inspiration in the woods where all is present. By all, I mean life and death, peace and chaos, beauty and ugliness, insight and mystery. It is a place to rest and reflect on the old as well as a place to explore and discover something new. Every artist chooses a subject that speaks to him or her. Nature is mine.
To create an image, I use the tools, techniques, and mediums that I have experienced and developed over the years. Like most artists, my aim is to use the elements of design at my disposal to develop artworks that draw people into them and offer a true and lasting connection.
