Profile: Sue Johns

My artwork is an interpretative, emotional response to the landscapes, still life settings, flowers and gardens that I've seen and the elements found there. I'm excited about the various aspects of painting i.e., colour, shapes, values, balance, etc. and find the challenge of painting a very rewarding study.

An art graduate of Sheridan College, Toronto, I continued studies with Beal Art Program in London and have attended several workshops with reputable artists throughout Ontario. Watercolour, acrylic, and oil are preferred mediums, doing both studio and en plein aire work in London and Muskoka. I've been fortunate to travel extensively in Ontario, eastern Canada, Europe and Britain with a small group of artists.

An ongoing exhibitor since 1988, in numerous galleries and in several juried and group shows throughout Ontario, my paintings can be found in private collections across Canada and US.

I'm a member of Lambeth Art Association, Gallery Painting Group, London and East Central Ontario Art Association.
